Delete a point of sale payment
When to use this procedure
Use this procedure to remove a payment from the Payment grid on the Enter Payments window when you are posting payments and saving your POS transaction(s). This procedure must be completed before you click Post.
A customer is making a purchase and pays by credit card. You have completed the steps to enter the credit card payment for the full amount when the customer finds a gift certificate in her wallet that she'd like to apply to the transaction. You would delete the initial payment to restore the balance due and then apply a partial payment using the gift certificate and apply the remaining balance to her credit card.
Steps to complete
Prerequisites: Payments must be added to the Payment grid on the Enter Payments window to complete this procedure.
- Highlight the payment you want to delete in the Payment grid.
- Click Delete. The payment amount is reapplied to the balance due.
